Light of the World

Matthew 5:14-16

We as believers should be salt of the earth and light of the world. Just like salt, our light should shine for others to see. Our living should be strong for Christ so we give a good taste in life which others would want to know and be part of. Our light should not be hidden but be visible for all to see and desire. Matthew shares this for us:

“You are the world’s light—a city on a hill, glowing in the night for all to see. Don’t hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see, so that they will praise your heavenly Father”. Matthew 5:14-16. NLT) When we are lights of Christ, they will give praise and glory to our Father in heaven.

For myself, I try to intentionally stay in His presence and pray throughout each day. I did receive a comment from a prior employee. A couple of months after I retired, I was told by two peers I was the first to retire and leave my department in good order. My lesson and yours is you never know who is watching. Our light must shine and be bright when we are round family, friends, coworkers and even the clerk at the grocery store. Next time give the clerk a strong and positive greeting. You never know how their day has been going. This goes for anyone having to deal with the public.

Who can you shine your light and cheer up today?

What friend needs some encouragement today with a call or card?
