Psalm 37:4-5
The challenge of these two verses in Psalms is four key words: delight, desires, commit and trust. The rest of Psalm 37 talks of God protecting us and waiting on Him. This tells us we should continue to grow our relationship with God and obey Him, know Him and delight in Him. He will then give us our heart’s desires. “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him to help you do it, and he will”. Psalm 37:4-5 NLT.
The more we delight in Him and enjoy His Word, the more we may receive our requests and the desires of our heart. We commit everything to Him and we can trust Him to help us. He loves us when we come before Him with thankfulness and He will help us. In any relationship, trust is a big and important Word. The more we worship, read His Word and pray, the more we come to know Him and trust and delight in Him. Similar to our marriages where we should trust our spouse. Patti and I believe our relationship, communication and trust are the three key ingredients for a solid marriage. Each one of these three represent God and ourselves. First our relationship with God and each other. Second, our communication with each other, including our talking/ communication with God through prayer. Third, is our trust in each other and our trust in God to help us and always be with us.
What can you do to better trust and delight in God and His Word?
