What is Normal?

Proverbs 19:21

We have so many plans and dreams for our lives. Yet our lives do not always match what we plan. God wants our plans to match His plans for our lives. Proverbs suggests His purpose will prevail. Looking from His perspective, He is in charge of the universe, our world, our lives and our daily responsibilities. He already knows what is ahead and where we are in His plans for our lives. We need to obey and follow His way and stay on His path. “Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails”. Proverbs 19:21. NIV

The pandemic changed our way of life for a while. Some are hoping to return to normal soon. I believe normal is of the past. Actually, normal should never exist except maybe for a short time. As we live our lives to follow and obey Jesus, we should also be growing in many ways. This translates to making adjustments in our lives to draw ourselves closer to God first. Then we need to ensure we are following His purpose for our lives. The more we pray and seek His purpose for our lives, the more our requests will match and He may answer our prayers with what we desire. Normal can place us in the same pattern in our lives. Recently, I have been trying to pray a bigger picture from God’s view in order to wait for His answer. This allows God to answer in ways I could not have imagined, hoped for or even dreamed of.

Are you praying for Him to come around to your way?

What are you praying “normal” and need to alter your thinking?
