Be Transformed

Romans 12:2

How would you define transform? Siri says as a verb it is defined as a thorough or dramatic change. God wants us to change more each day to deepen our relationship with Him. Paul says “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect”. Romans 12:2 (NLT).

For us not to copy the perverse ways of this world God must transform us by changing the way we think. We’ve talked about watching our thoughts which can negatively or positively impact our words and actions. To be transformed by God decisively, we must intentionally make a change of direction in our relationship with Jesus. Are we committed 100%? Do we need to make a complete or partial turn back to Him? I try to examine my life at times to see what my schedule looks like. Is God in all the areas of my life – my reading, TV watching, who my close friends are and my time usage?

Through our changing with His help, we will learn to know His will and purpose for us. His work is pleasing to us when we are at the center of His will regardless of trials and other anxieties when we do not agree with His plan. I believe our minds and thoughts can help us make the turns to draw us closer to Him.

What can you change where God needs to be closer to you?

What adjusting must ne made to make the change today?
