Foundation in Who?

Joshua 1:8

Joshua was just taken over from Moses to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. Part of his speech included a challenge to mediate, know and live the documents of the law. “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful”. Joshua 1:8 (NIV) You can read daily, meditate or think on throughout the day and reread a few times. This is the concept of my devotional”. One Week at a Time”. Focus on a set of verses for one week and get to know them really well. Thinking of His Word more often can build a habit and a solid foundation in God’s truth and keep you at the center of His will. This will allow you not to fall to the temptations of this world. Our lives should reflect and be based on God’s Word. This is achieved by doing what it says. All this will lead us to be “prosperous and successful”. God can and has blessed our lives. He can and does also bring to us challenging experiences and trials. These circumstances help to grow our faith and trust. His Word needs to be our foundation which will help us through trials and give us joy when we are prosperous. God wants our obedience and love. Always make a deliberate effort to spend quality time listening or reading and studying His Word. This way it will always be on your lips.

Do you need to be more deliberate with time in His Word?

Can you add start with or add just 5 minutes to your readings?
