Stop Blamimg others

Genesis 3:11-13 NILT Today we continue to blame others for our wrong actions and the resulting consequences. It is hard to admit you are wrong. Just like the Fonz in Happy Days years ago, he had trouble saying the word wrong. Comes out like an “r” sound and that is it. The serpent (the devil) told Eve she can eat the fruit off the tree of life and Eve told Adam he could eat the fruit. They both sinned against God.

Adam blamed Eve for his wrong choice (3:12) and Eve blamed the serpent (3:13), for their disobedience. We make many choices every day. Some are routine while others are between right and wrong. We need to insure we are walking with God daily in order to make the right choices and to know what He wants us to do.

Time in God’s Word gives us the knowledge and strength to obey Him. When my wife and I faced infertility, we needed to listen to Him for endurance and guidance. We did somewhat start to blame God for the situation. Once we gave this to Him, we finally were at peace after a few weeks. During this coming week, start by asking God for help with your daily choices. Read and pray through Psalm 51:10-12, ask Him for forgiveness for a wrong choice and for a willingness to obey Him every day. Think of a major choice you need to make soon and ask God for direction. This major choice or decision may be relational, career, life change or spiritual.
