Who is Running my life?

Came across a verse which motivated me to do more thinking. Chapter 14 of the book of Romans, Paul talks of each of us being accountable to God. We need to focus on Him and not worried about what we eat or do.  Sometimes and as often as I may read the Bible, God is always wanting to teach me something new! Romans 14:17 tells a lot about what our priorities should be. Chapter 14 also talks about not allowing others to stumble through our actions. Romans 14:17 states “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” NIV. The many key words include kingdom, righteousness, peace, joy and the Holy Spirit. Who is running your life? Is God running my life?  The word kingdom is asking who is king of my life? What areas are not under His kingship or management? Hopefully I am letting God handle all areas. This does not mean they always go well but at least I might ask for His wisdom or direction first so He is always involved. His kingdom is not about eating or drinking or even cutting the grass or chasing after dreams but chasing His will and purpose for our lives. This is about seeking His righteousness. The Biblical definition is our works are justified through God and not ourselves. It is a gift from God due to His love for us and through our faith. In seeking to do what is right, the standard is set by God and I sometimes fall short of His standard. I must make sure I do not live down to the world’s standard and morals. This is also about His peace in our lives. Not the world’s peace which comes and goes but of His peace in all circumstances. His peace us not of this world. We seek His joy always and not happiness which comes and goes. His joy and His peace are never changing and always with us. Finally, our wisdom and guidance us from the Holt Spirit who came into our lives the day we accepted Christ. He will help us stay on God’s path and help us in our prayers. He is an equal part of the Trinity and He can work through us. So, is the King running your life? What area of you life do you need to adjust today?
