Like my recent blog this one highlights a verse often left out. I have memorized these three verses, used them as a reminder for my time usage, I used them to help in responding to situations and as a prayer. These verses are 1 Thessalonians 5:16 -18a: “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances;”. These are easy to memorize and great ones to start your memory list with. The verse after these three finally hit home for me. We are always asking what God’s will is for us or seeking for confirmation we are on the right track. Verse 18b tells us. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” NIV. His will does not start with what we do or how we live our lives. First, he looks for our relationship with Him. He wants us to grow our relationship through rejoicing in all things, even when we are struggling. Second, he wants us to pray and talk to Him throughout each day. Third, He wants us to be thankful for all we have or do not have. It is not how often we attend church, how many bible Studies we are in or how much money we can give. Our relationship must start inside us. His will for us is to love Him first and as we grow in Him our will draws closer to His will for our lives.t Start with these verses to seek His purpose for your life.
